Northern and Southern Community Development Cost Charges Amendments
The Regional District of Nanaimo has introduced "Northern Community Sewer Service Area Development Cost Charges Amendment Bylaw No. 1442.03" and "Southern Community Sewer Service Area Development Cost Charges Amendment Bylaw No. 1547.01", which will amend development cost charges (DCC) rates applied to new developments for the purpose of upgrading and expanding regional wastewater treatment facilities.
The Northern Community DCC rates amendments will apply to new developments within the City of Parksville, Town of Qualicum Beach and portions of Electoral Area G including the French Creek, Barclay Crescent and Surfside Sewer Service Areas, as well as the Pacific Shores Service Area in Electoral Area E (Nanoose Peninsula). The Southern Community DCC rates amendments will apply to new developments within the City of Nanaimo and the District of Lantzville.
Property developers, builders, and other interested parties are invited to attend two information meetings regarding development cost charges rate amendments for Northern and Southern Communities respectively. The purpose of these meetings is to explain how the charges have been calculated and to obtain comments which will be considered prior to the adoption of the bylaw.
