Action on Climate Change
Local and global weather patterns are changing and extreme weather events are happening more often. The effects of a changing climate vary and will continue to vary between regions in BC, from sea level rise and flooding in some areas and drought and increased risk of wildfire and invasive species in others. Within our region, the top three projected impacts are reduced water supply, increased in hot and dry conditions and sea level rise.In order to respond to the projected climate impacts, the RDN and its member municipalities and residents are planning for current and future climate influenced issues and are taking action.
