Facility and Service Update
Curbside Collection Update
February 15, 2019 10:00amRDN Curbside Collection trucks are out today on regularly scheduled routes. Today's scheduled routes are RD-1 in the Town of Qualicum Beach area, and RD-2 in the Errington area.
Not all households may be collected today, as some roads are inaccessible to the collection trucks due to winter conditions.
Missed material can be set out on your next corresponding collection day. For example, if we missed your recycling and food waste collection today: please set out your food waste next week, and your recycling on your next scheduled recycling collection day. Please adhere to the 50 lb weight limit and 100 litre volume limit per bin/bag.
We regret any inconvenience this service disruption may cause, and thank you for your patience and understanding.
February 13, 2019 5:00pmThank you for your patience and understanding to keep our curbside collection crew and road users safe during the recent weather events. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Missed material can be set out on your next corresponding collection day. In other words, if we missed your recycling collection this week or last Friday, please set out your extra recycling on your next scheduled recycling collection day. Or if we missed your garbage collection last Monday, please set out your extra garbage on your next scheduled garbage collection day, no ‘Extra Bag Tag’ needed. And food waste is collected every week! When setting out extra material, please ensure no bins/bags exceed the 50 pound weight limit or 100 litre volume limit.
What about pickup around Family Day? Our Curbside Collection Schedules were printed and distributed before the 2019 Family Day was changed from February 11 to February 18. To save reprinting/mailing money and resources, the RDN has opted to keep the original schedule. Please set out your bins on the day shown on your schedule.
If you’re in the City of Nanaimo and had your collection missed, please check contact them directly.
