Mr. Frank Collins of the Arrowsmith Community Justice Program gave an update and overview of funding. He advised that the Attorney General''s Ministry is currently considering funding the paid coordinator''s position for the program but it will be 6-12 months before this funding will be provided. In the meantime the program requires bridge financing and requested the Committee''s consideration.
Mr. Collins presented a plaque to the Committee in appreciation of the RDN''s grant to the program in 1998.

Restorative Justice.
MOVED Director McNabb, SECONDED Director Savage, that the Board create a separate Grants-in-Aid function for Electoral Areas E, F, G & H to raise $5,000 annually (or another amount as determined by the Board) for the Restorative Justice program in District 69.
That the Board request the Ministry of Municipal Affairs to grant the RDN the authority to establish a policing function to provide funding to the Restorative Justice program.

MOVED Director McLean, SECONDED Director McNabb, that the staff recommendation be amended by removing the words, "subject to arrangements for the provision of additional alternative access to the parcel by the Province", and replace with the words "and that the cost of the survey be put to tender for District 69 surveyors."
