Ms. Sims presented a visual and verbal update on Development Permit Application No. 9813 and urged the Committee to approve alternate no. 1 of the staff report.

MOVED Director Garnish, SECONDED Director McGuffie, that a Section 700 filing be placed on Lot 68, District Lot 78, Nanoose District, Plan 15983 (3482 Grilse Road) by the Chief Building Inspector and that if full compliance to RDN bylaws is not achieved by the property owner within 60 days, that staff be directed to proceed with a structural removal bylaw.

MOVED Director Sherry, SECONDED Director Garnish, that Development Permit Application No. 9813, to construct a residence and attached garage on Lot 1, Plan 27232, District Lot 19, Newcastle Land District (5479 West Island Highway), be approved subject to the conditions outlined in Schedule 1.

MOVED Director McLean, SECONDED Director Duncan, that the motion be amended to add the following:

"and in addition, grant a Development Variance Permit to relax the setback requirements for the accessory building."
